2 C Milk (I used Flax Milk)
1/2 C Oil
1/2 C Sugar
1 Pkg active dry yeast
4 C + 1 C Gluten Free Flour Mix (see below for recipe)
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
melted butter
Bring milk, oil and sugar to a low boil. As soon as it gets bubbly, remove from heat and let stand for 30-45 mins. When liquid is warm/luke-warm, add yeast, stir and let sit for a few minutes. Mix in 4 cups flour, cover and let stand 1 hour. In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture to dough and stir until well combined. Dough is ready to use.
I have only used this for crescent rolls, which Lady H ate all the time. She liked this version too. Even requested seconds!
For Crescent Rolls:
Roll the dough out into a circle about 1/4 inch thick. Use a pizza cutter to cut dough into triangles. Roll from wide end to point end. Brush with melted butter and bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Check back soon for other uses of this dough! (Pizza crust, dinner rolls, pigs in a blanket, etc!)
